Wellness retreat themed bachelorette
Last July I wanted to do a more “chill” bachelorette for myself and my friends. I ended up planning most of it which is a little nontraditional but my thought is, if it’s my one and only bachelorette- shouldn’t I make sure we are doing things I love? I have no desire for drinking games, going out late and coming home from a weekend more tired than I left. I find that many women feel this pressure to make a bachelorette a certain way, whether it’s the bride or the maid of honor who experience it (or both). I wanted it to be clear that this is truly a vacation for all of us. All I wanted was a farm stay with some pilates, sun bathing and good food.
I found Quixote Farms through instagram and instantly fell in love. This seemed like the place my vision board would be a reality. I booked all of the houses/rooms to accommodate 12 of us which was the perfect size. I know they are working on another restored barn which will be able to accommodate more! It is perfect for hosting a little retreat and even weddings.
We drove from Costa Mesa (about 2.5 hrs with traffic) through winding back roads that led to a beautiful countryside town with your classic California foothills dotted with orange and citrus trees.
Laura and Chip (the hosts) were incredibly kind and treated you as if they were your family. They have such a beautiful vision for their property. They offer farm to table meals and we signed up for the dinner and the breakfast.
The dinner was the main event for the weekend. I asked the girls to bring a colorful or floral dress and I opted for a very light pink/cream. We sat at a decorated table surrounded by orange trees. The food was amazing and we all watched the sunset and the moonrise over the hill while chit chatting about womanhood and life. It was absolutely magical.
When we weren’t at Quixote farms, we were in Encinitas doing a Pilates class at Pilates Republic and had brunch in town. We were supposed to have a beach day at Moonlight Beach but June Gloom was seeping into July and we decided to go back and enjoy the pool at Quixote. Looking back I’d rather have not even left Quixote but making your friends do a reformer class is worth the lack of the beach day!
I can’t recommend doing a “wellness retreat” for a bachelorette more!
